Well, it’s a start.
I’ve gathered everyone’s press schedules (those that submitted to me and/or had their press schedules available on their website), and let me say, damn: 2014 is going to be BIG for the indie press world. Though this list is long, it isn’t comprehensive; I am missing schedules from some presses, so editors, please contact me!
For phase two, which starts now, I open up this endeavor to the indie lit community.
Here’s how it works:
If you are interested in contributing, choose between 3 and 5 books you are anticipating from the list below. Contact me with your most anticipated and a ONE paragraph hype blurb (talk about what the book is and why you are excited for it) for each of the 3 to 5 books claimed. And…that’s it. You will be credited for the contribution. NOTE: Books with a name in brackets–example “[This Guy]”–are claimed.
Authors/editors/publishers/owners-of-press: One stipulation… you can’t write about your own books/press publications.
I want this list to be indicative of one of the indie lit world’s biggest strengths: community and active participation. What better way to comprise a Year-in-Preview article than by incorporating the voices within the community itself?
I encourage you to participate.
Contact me at: michael @ electricliterature dot com
Blurbs/contribution deadline: January 31st 2014
